Best Buy is on my Taco Bell List
Best Buy recently had an exclusive sale for my place of employment last night after normal business hours. It was a non advertised event with discounted prices and door prizes. I am looking to purchase a number of electronic items in the near future one of which is a new digital camera. I did not expect to find the particular item I wanted on sale, but I thought I could find other good deals. At least a discounted CD or video game. I went to the Best Buy and upon entering was handed a raffle ticket and a pamphlet that listed all the deals. These “deals” were nine bundled packages that were on “sale.” Here is an example of the “discounted price” for one of the bundles.
- Panasonic 50” 1080P plasma $1599.99
- Panasonic Blu ray Player $299.99
- Monster Cable Ultra 800 4’ HDMI $99.99
- Monster Screen Cleanser $19.99
- Home Theater Calibration $249.99
- Total $2269.95
- “Savings” $100
- Final Price $2169.95
If I bought this normally I would never purchase the last three items. So as you can see, no savings whatsoever for anyone that thinks major purchases through. This may be the most idiotic “sale” I’ve ever seen. Yet, I saw numerous people happily purchasing PS3s, camcorders, cell phones, video games, etc. All, of course, NOT ON SALE OR DISCOUNTED!!! This exclusive deal was only to fill up Best Buy’s store after hours on what would normally be a slow day. And the camera I was looking for was $30 more expensive then the best buy online price or Amazon. So I added Best Buy to my Taco Bell list. My Taco Bell list originated when I said to myself, “Self, you know there is no reason to ever go to Taco Bell again.” So now I have two things on the list. (And I hate the d-bag in the new triple steak Taco Bell ad who orders Taco Bell at a fancy steak restaurant. That really reaffirmed calling it the Taco Bell list.)
To recap my list
- Taco Bell
- Best Buy
Fry in hell Best Buy.
And I “promise” not to use so many quotes in future posts
