Let me preface this by saying I do not in any way like MMA and if I described this movie to you, you would call it preposterous.  I really enjoyed this movie.  To say it was effective would be a bit of an understatement.  The method of storytelling and revelation of the characters stories and motivations is really well crafted.  It seems like every decision the filmmakers made was the correct decision.  How much to dwell on this aspect of the story, climactic moment, use of music, casting, etc.  Hats off.  Finally, Tom Hardy’s entrance and exit into the ring is a perfect example of why minimalism is so badass and could be used with great effect in the world of sports today.
